Construction Materials Testing
Construction Materials Testing is NOVA Engineering and Environmental’s Largest Service Line.
Construction materials testing is one of the most critical services NOVA provides, as this testing confirms that all construction projects that NOVA is involved with are built with quality materials that will stand the test of time.
We provide full-service construction materials testing and consulting services utilizing our fully-accredited laboratories. Our services fall into three basic categories: Sampling, testing, and inspection.
Materials that NOVA routinely inspects include:
- Base materials
- Structural steel
Through our construction materials testing services, NOVA provides design teams and owners with critical information to evaluate the many or different aspects of their construction projects both during construction and throughout the useful life of the structure.
A small price for peace of mind
Testing and inspection services usually only take up about 1% of an overall construction budget. This cost is a small price to pay to know that the construction procedures and materials used are in accordance with building codes and project specifications.
We offer owners, architects, and general contractors the confidence that construction was completed as intended, and we decrease the likelihood of expensive post-construction repairs or unexpected maintenance.
NOVA’s laboratories are nationally accredited and inspected by organizations such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, AASHTO, and CMEC.
Other inspection services offered by NOVA include:
- Concrete and asphalt mix designs and mix verifications
- Deep foundations installation observations (including piles and caissons)
- Batch plant inspections
- Pre and post-tensioned concrete
- Non-destructive examinations of structural steel
- Pre-blast surveys & blast vibration recording
