Robert M. Freda, P.E. named as NOVA’s North Carolina Branch Manager

(September, 2007) NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc. (NOVA) names Robert (Rob) M. Freda, P.E. as its North Carolina Branch Manager.  Mr. Freda brings with him over 15 years of experience in project management, geotechnical exploration and evaluation; foundation (deep and shallow); construction materials testing and special inspections, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), remediation, tier evaluation and risk assessments, and underground storage tank management.  Mr. Freda is based out of NOVA’s Charlotte, North Carolina office where he will oversee and manage the North Carolina operations.

Mr. Freda has a MBA in Business Administration from Capital University in Columbia, Ohio and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  In addition, he is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey, North Carolina, and Ohio.

NOVA has offices strategically located throughout the Southeast United States and employs over 100 professionals and administrative support staff to provide environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection services.


J. Russell Ashburn III, P.E. named Georgia Transportation Services Program Leader

 (June, 2007) NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc. (NOVA) names J. Russell (Russ) Ashburn, III, P.E. as its Georgia Transportation Services Program Leader.  Mr. Ashburn brings with him over 22 years of experience in project management, geotechnical exploration and evaluation; foundation (deep and shallow) design analyses and installation; slope evaluations and repair designs; geo-physical evaluations; retaining wall design and evaluation; dam design and evaluation; site grading; construction phase testing; asphalt and concrete mix designs; pavement evaluations and design; Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA); and, failure investigations.  In his role at NOVA, Mr. Ashburn will oversee and manage all Georgia Transportation projects.

 Mr. Ashburn has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.  In addition, he is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

R. Morgan Dickson, P.E. named Senior Engineer and Corporate Manager of Threshold Services

Nova Engineering and Environmental, Inc. (NOVA) names R. Morgan Dickinson, P.E., Senior Engineer and Corporate Manager of Threshold Services . Mr. Dickinson brings with him over 29 years experience, specializing in geotechnical engineering, engineering management, construction engineering and inspection, threshold building inspection, and materials testing.

Mr. Dickinson has an M.S. in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering from Northwestern University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and Colorado. In addition, Mr. Dickinson is certified as a Florida Special Inspector and Florida Threshold Engineer. He is a member of the American Society of Engineers and Florida Engineering Society.

Bryan J. Morrison, P.E. named Orlando Branch Manager of NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc.

Nova Engineering and Environmental, Inc. (NOVA) names Bryan J. Morrison, P.E. Orlando Branch Manager. Mr. Morrison brings with him over 9 years experience, specializing in geotechnical engineering, engineering management, construction engineering and inspection, threshold building inspection, and materials testing.

Mr. Morrison has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and Florida Engineering Society.

Alton P. Hobbs named Corporate Manager of Environmental Services of NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc.

Nova Engineering and Environmental, Inc. (NOVA) names Alton P. Hobbs Corporate Manager of Environmental Services. Mr. Hobbs brings with him over 20 years experience in the environmental consulting field, including due diligence (Phase I/II environmental site assessments); Brownfield assessment and development, and soil and groundwater remediation.

Mr. Hobbs has a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He is also an AHERA Asbestos Inspector and Management Planner.

Lisa Elsner joins NOVA as Business Development Associate

Lisa Elsner joined NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc. in January 2007 as Business Development Associate. She brings with her over 15 years of business development experience in the construction and environmental and engineering consulting business. Mrs. Elsner will concentrate on business development for the private and public sectors, including owners, developers, architects, general contractors, counties, cities, and universities.

Janet Mills joins NOVA as Corporate Marketing Director and Business Development Associate

Janet Mills joined NOVA Engineering and Environmental, Inc. in January 2007 as Business Development Associate. She brings with her over 20 years of marketing and business development experience in the environmental and engineering consulting business. Ms. Mills is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a degree in Marketing. She will be responsible for corporate marketing efforts as well as business development for the private and public sectors, including owners, developers, architects, general contractors, counties, cities, and universities.
